14th March- Editing

Today our group carried on with editing some of our footage together. We used a range of shots and used some transitions to make the beginning of our opening flow better. We also looked at a sound site to see what different types of sound would go with our opening, the site we looked at was FreeSound. We looked at different sounds such as ghostly sounds and sounds that build up tension.

9th March 2011- Uploading new footage

After filming our new footage we uploaded it to our mac that we have been given for our group. We started to piece together some of our footage to see if the different shots flow together. We were happy with the editing and decided that we were going to film some more shots to begin our film with an establishing shot of the house. To also create a sense of threat we are going to film shots of a little girl to create a ghost like feeling.

8th March Looking at footage

We looked at the fotage today and what we have filmed we showed to an audience and there feedback was that it had no direction it looked to like a teen soap. So we sat down as a group and thought of a different direction to head in so we are changing our story slightly and the location is being changed. we are going out in our free lesson tomorrow to refilm the start part of it.

23rd January filming again

When we downloaded our footage onto the macs we realised it was to dark and you couldnt see half of what was going on so we have filmed half of it again in the day so it is lighter. We are going to film the other half later on. We filmed our footage and we have done it from lots of different angles so that we can have a wide choice as to which ones we choose.

Uploading on to the mac's

Today we had a free period so we decided it would be good to upload what footage we hadonto the mac. to do this we had to follow these steps.

1.Plug the power lead into the camera (DC in) and a plug socket.
2.Connect the camera to the Mac by using the USB lead.
DO NOT TURN THE CAMERA ON YET!
3.Load i-Movie - this will be in the dock and looks like a star with a video camera in the middle of it!
4.Create a new project.
5.Once i-Movie has loaded you can turn the camera on.
6.Change the camera from movie mode to playback mode and select connect to PC / Printer.
7.i-Movie will now detect the camera and look for images.
8.Select the shots you want to import and click on import checked.
9.Poster images will now be generated.
10.Select all the poster images (select the first, press the shift key and click on the last to select them all).
11.Drag these images into the top window - an editing tip will appear but ignore this.
12.You will be told how much footage and how many clips you have downloaded.

We now need to get this footage onto the desktop of the Mac.

13.Select SHARE from the toolbara t the top of the screen.
14.Click on EXPORT USING QUICKTIME
15.You will need to name the clip and select a location for this to save.
16.Once you have done this you can export the footage you have taken as a QT Movie.
17.This movie can then be copied and pasted into FCE.
