Uploading on to the mac's

Today we had a free period so we decided it would be good to upload what footage we hadonto the mac. to do this we had to follow these steps.

1.Plug the power lead into the camera (DC in) and a plug socket.
2.Connect the camera to the Mac by using the USB lead.
DO NOT TURN THE CAMERA ON YET!
3.Load i-Movie - this will be in the dock and looks like a star with a video camera in the middle of it!
4.Create a new project.
5.Once i-Movie has loaded you can turn the camera on.
6.Change the camera from movie mode to playback mode and select connect to PC / Printer.
7.i-Movie will now detect the camera and look for images.
8.Select the shots you want to import and click on import checked.
9.Poster images will now be generated.
10.Select all the poster images (select the first, press the shift key and click on the last to select them all).
11.Drag these images into the top window - an editing tip will appear but ignore this.
12.You will be told how much footage and how many clips you have downloaded.

We now need to get this footage onto the desktop of the Mac.

13.Select SHARE from the toolbara t the top of the screen.
14.Click on EXPORT USING QUICKTIME
15.You will need to name the clip and select a location for this to save.
16.Once you have done this you can export the footage you have taken as a QT Movie.
17.This movie can then be copied and pasted into FCE.

Starting filming

Last night we decided it would be a good time to start filming as all our cast were available. we went out at 4 o'clock and got in about 5 ish. We went to Brambleside alley and started filming it started to get too dark though and so we had to rush to get bits done. It was really fun and we just needto upload it onto the macs and see if we need to re-film or add any other bits.

Props

On Monday 10th January we went into town to buy some props for our Horror opening. Altogether it cost us about £6. Our props included a fake knife and fake blood.

Getting our memory card

On Thursday 6th of January our group was aloud to get our group memory card to start filming. We have our own memory cards so that other people can't accidently delete our work off of the camera.
