Uploading on to the mac's

Today we had a free period so we decided it would be good to upload what footage we hadonto the mac. to do this we had to follow these steps.

.Plug the power lead into the camera (DC in) and a plug socket.
.Connect the camera to the Mac by using the USB lead.
DO NOT TURN THE CAMERA ON YET!
.Load i-Movie - this will be in the dock and looks like a star with a video camera in the middle of it!
.Create a new project.
.Once i-Movie has loaded you can turn the camera on.
.Change the camera from movie mode to playback mode and select connect to PC / Printer.
.i-Movie will now detect the camera and look for images.
.Select the shots you want to import and click on import checked.
.Poster images will now be generated.
.Select all the poster images (select the first, press the shift key and click on the last to select them all).
.Drag these images into the top window - an editing tip will appear but ignore this.
.You will be told how much footage and how many clips you have downloaded.

We now need to get this footage onto the desktop of the Mac.

.Select SHARE from the toolbara t the top of the screen.
.Click on EXPORT USING QUICKTIME
.You will need to name the clip and select a location for this to save.
.Once you have done this you can export the footage you have taken as a QT Movie.
.This movie can then be copied and pasted into FCE.
